Fortress Hohensalzburg

The fortress Hohensalzburg was built in the year 1077 and is the biggest and entirely received castle in Central Europe. Especially worth seeing is the medieval prince room and the castle museum. Since 1892 the fortress is reachable comfortably by cable car from the Festungsgasse.

Saltworlds in Hallein

The saltworlds in Hallein give an insight into the treasure of the „white gold“ – the salt. The Celts started mining this precious present of the mountains about 2500 years ago already. The ride with the „Grubenhung“ and fast slides count to the attractions of the guided tour through the salt world. Through narrow banks and wide halls, over glossy rocks you pass the international boundary and reach the subsurface salt lake, which is found on German federal territory.
